DESCRIPTION: EPW - Wales & McCulloch, London, day-date calendar, 51mm, 18K gold OF original case bearing London hallmarks for 1858, "J W" marking in cameo for casemaker John Wells, white enamel triple-sunk dial with registers for day, date, and seconds, KWKS, lever escapement, 13J, 3/4 plate gilt mvt, s#2008 with matching serial number on dial. Gross weight of assembled watch 70.6 dwt (110.1 g). CONDITION: Mvt: GRO after a twist to start, good calendar function...
CONDITION: Mvt: GRO after a twist to start, good calendar function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, gilt finish with ultra-fine scratch striations likely from light wiping; dial with numerous hls at perimeter and center, fracture and small edge chip at 5:30; excellent hands; case shows light to medium wear, scratches and fine scratches to cuvette, small but deep pinpoint ding to upper rear, reduced engine turning detail with loss to rear shoulder and much of band; tight bow with some pitting and evidence of repair to its upper portion; good glass crystal.
